JUNE 2009

Events:

On June 1, Architect Jesus Franch Jimenez was awarded the prestigious Royal Scholarship for Outstanding Excellence and Advanced Achievements in the Arts.

The same day, the Museum held a public conversation between video artist Joanna Zawieja and chief curator Jasper Smith. Joanna's work will be screened at the Cinema in a Shoebox through the entire month of June.

On June 15, botanist Florian Wolf and podiatrist Francesca Hernadez will talk about "Portable Gardens", their exciting new collaboration.

Also, make sure to participate in the family friendly cloud-themed workshops. The perfect activity on a Sunday afternoon!

JULY 2009

Events:

The Summer Pavilion is finally opened. It is designed by Torbjörn Gudmundsson.

On July 21, Konstantin Vasilyev will talk about his illustrious career and his latest monograph. A book signing in the Gift Shop will follow the lecture. Don't forget to bring a pen!

Don't miss Parvati Chattopadhayay's installation above the Goldfish Pond next to the Summer Pavilion!

Vienna based collective archi.PH.art and singer Stefan Sterzinger present their multimedia performance in the Sculpture Garden.

Exhibitions:

"Polaroids from the Sky: Clouds Through the Ages" through August 12.

"Cardboard Seasons" through August 2.

Last but not least, take a walk in the sun, look up towards the sky, and who knows what you will see...

AUGUST 2009

Muna Faqiri's new interpretation of the classic tale "The Silver Tree" is playing at the Theater in a Shoebox.

Don't miss Teres Selberg's colorful exhibition at the Summer Pavilion.

There's a new exhibition at the Gallery in a Shoebox, the small exhibition space on the 2nd floor. It is a retrospective exhibition devoted to the work of photographer Nicklas Dennermalm.

There are only a few days left of Muna Faqiri's acclaimed reinterpretation of the classic tale "The Silver Tree".

Be swept away by Matteo Arnone's "Endless Nights" every Friday between 11pm and 5am (Extended opening hours!).

We are proud to present our Artist-in-Residence Björn Säfsten's new dance performance "Compact Conversations".

On September 22, Guðrún Einarsdóttir will talk about her remarkable quest to climb every single species of trees in the world.

was was created by British artist Fatima Hughes as a part of the
Museum's major exhibition "Vermin Cities and Other Parallel
Societies".

Yesterday the first snowflakes fell on the Sculpture Garden, which
means that winter has finally arrived!

We hope that you have had a chance to see the new exhibition "Greyscales" in the Gallery in a Shoebox.

There are only a few days left to see Kenjirou Yoshida's critically acclaimed play "The Apartment"
starring Santiago Azevedo.

December 17 multimedia performance artist Nathalie Fougheras will talk about her exciting work and give us a glimpse of her latest performance piece.

December 29 we will host a Museology Symposium. Do not miss this chance to meet and mingle with the leading scholars of everything having to do with museums!
